Nikon reveals new AF-P NIKKOR 70–300mm ED VR zoom

Press release issued by Nikon UK:

Faster. Sharper. Better. The new AF-P NIKKOR 70–300mm ED VR telephoto zoom.

RRP: £749.99 / € 899.00

Sales start date: TBC

London, UK, 11th July 2017: Nikon gives sports, wildlife, and travel photographers the power to achieve better handheld telephoto shots with the new AF-P NIKKOR 70–300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR. Faster AF plus SPORT VR mode hone in on the action without compromising sharpness. The lighter, weather-resistant build goes anywhere.

From the winner’s expression to birds in flight, the latest incarnation of this full-frame telephoto zoom captures exceptional stills and movies. As an AF-P NIKKOR lens it boasts Nikon’s Stepping Motor, which brings subjects into focus extra quickly and extra quietly. Vibration Reduction (VR) is now faster, quieter, and more effective. And this lens also benefits from SPORT VR mode, inherited from Nikon’s pro lenses. A firm favourite with photographers who shoot action, SPORT VR mode enables photographers to reliably track fast-moving subjects—even when they’re moving erratically. Additional features from Nikon’s pro lenses include an electromagnetic diaphragm, which ensures precise exposures at high frame rates. And A/M and M/A focus-mode switches that make it possible to control manual-focus override simply by turning the focus ring. The preferred option of sports photographers, M/A mode allows switching with virtually no time lag. The A/M focus mode is less sensitive to prevent unintentional switching to manual mode.

Emma Fergie, Product Manager, Lenses & Accessories, Nikon UK says: “The new AF-P 70-300mm lens is an excellent addition to our NIKKOR lens line-up. Nikon is renowned for its ability to integrate proven pro technology into more affordable lenses, and this new telephoto zoom is testament to that. Exceptional features like the SPORT VR and advance vibration reduction (VR) mean that this is the ideal lens for photographers who often have to shoot in gruelling situations.”

A significant upgrade—New features of the AF-P NIKKOR 70–300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR

More flexibility: this 70–300mm telephoto zoom (105–450mm when used with a Nikon DX-format SLR) now boasts a minimum focus distance of 1.2 m throughout the zoom range and a 0.25x maximum reproduction ratio.
AF-P Stepping Motor: for ultra-fast, ultra-quiet autofocus. Enables video footage to be recorded with practically no drive noise.
Advanced Vibration Reduction (VR): enables shooting at shutter speeds up to 4.5 stops slower than otherwise possible.¹
SPORT VR mode: delivers a more stable viewfinder image, which is helpful when shooting exceptionally fast action, or when panning.
Weather-resistant build: every movable part of the lens barrel is sealed to protect from dust and water droplets.
Electromagnetic nine-blade diaphragm: delivers consistent automatic exposure control even during high-speed bursts. The rounded diaphragm blades enable natural-looking bokeh.
Superior control: A/M and M/A focus-mode switches. Focus ring and the zoom ring boast a knurled covering that enables a firm grip.

Nikon launches D7500 DSLR

Catch the shot of a lifetime with the all-new D7500

London, United Kingdom, 12th April 2017: Nikon announces the D7500, designed to expand the creative possibilities for photographers as they pursue their passion in photography. Powerful, nimble, and fully connected, the D7500 offers the same image quality as the D500—Nikon’s flagship DX-format DSLR, and a performance that overcomes the most challenging conditions.

Packing powerful image technology in a travel-ready body, the D7500 is ideal for photographers who are always searching for the best possible images. As with the D500, the D7500’s 20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor offers an ISO range that extends to an incredible ISO 1640000 equivalent. Nikon’s EXPEED 5 processor is on board, offering faster, cleaner image processing. And the greatly increased pixel count of the 180K-pixel RGB sensor enables improved metering accuracy. Video shooters can record 4K/UHD movies, and Nikon’s in-camera Electronic Vibration Reduction counters the effects of unwanted camera movement. Ergonomic improvements include the new tilting monitor that offers touchscreen operation, and a deep grip for a stable, exceptionally comfortable hold. And this is the first Nikon DSLR to boast a built-in flash that supports radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting.

Tim Carter, Senior Product Manager, Nikon UK, Says: “The D7500 delivers the same superb image quality as the D500 but in a smaller, more lightweight body with easier handling. For amateur photographers who are looking to up their game and deliver best-in-class imagery, but perhaps don’t need so many of the professional features that the D500 offers, the D7500 is the perfect D-SLR. The camera comes equipped with SnapBridge which lets shooters share their incredible images wherever they are, and the chance to shoot at up to 8 fps with full AF/AE tracking allows the speed and precision to never miss a shot.”

Get ready for control with the new PC NIKKOR 19mm f/4E ED tilt-shift lens

Press release issued by Nikon Europe:

PC NIKKOR 19mm f/4E ED tilt-shift lens
PC NIKKOR 19mm f/4E ED tilt-shift lens

RRP:  £3,299.99 / €3,999

Sales start date: 27th October 2016

London, UK, 19th October 2016: Nikon takes compositional flexibility to a new level with the first FX-format perspective control (PC) lens to employ two PC rotation mechanisms. Ideal for architectural, fine art, and landscape photography, the PC NIKKOR 19mm f/4E ED is made for photographers who have a keen sense of space.

Thanks to its picture angle and unique tilt, shift, and double-layer rotation capabilities, this manual focus lens enables photographers to shoot from the perfect starting point. Both tilt and shift can be engaged individually, and in combination, essentially replicating the movements of a large-format view camera. Photographers can exercise extensive control over the lens’ focal plane, and easily shift to create images unaffected by convergence. Or tilt to create landscapes that are sharp from the foreground to the background, without the need to close the aperture as you would with standard lenses. The 19 mm angle of view is ideal for large structures and spaces, and the unique optical construction ensures the distortion common in wide-angle lenses is minimised, even at the edges of the frame.

Simon Iddon, Head of Product Management, Nikon UK, says: “This FX-format lens is a long-awaited addition to Nikon’s line-up of NIKKOR lenses with perspective control. Having been developed in response to the demands of professionals who work with PC lenses, it offers a powerful combination of picture angle and uncompromised edge to edge image quality”.

Summary of key features

19 mm ultra-wide angle of view

The 19 mm angle of view means photographers can capture the true proportions of a scene, or take in more of the structure and less of the foreground.

High precision: legendary NIKKOR quality

Two aspherical lens elements greatly reduce coma and other types of aberration. Three extra-low-dispersion glass elements minimise axial chromatic aberration. Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat virtually eliminates ghosting and flare throughout the frame, even in backlit situations.

Double-layer PC rotation: shoot from the perfect starting point

Both tilt and shift can be engaged individually, or in combination. Tilt can be rotated independently up to 90° in either direction, and the whole lens can also be rotated up to 90°.

Smooth operator: superb build, exceptional ergonomics

The sturdy shift mechanism allows for smooth operation. The lens is compact and weighs approximately 885 g. And it boasts Nikon’s fluorine coating, which actively repels water, dust and dirt without compromising image quality.
